Children’s Voices: Listening—and Deciding—is an Adult Responsibility

In this brief essay, I question the position that we should ask children’s opinions when a decision about their lives is in dispute. Let’s be clear: we only really worry about including children’s voices when a decision is disputed. More broadly, I question whether giving children too many rights has burdened children with too many responsibilities.
