Born Osama: Muslim-American Employment Discrimination

Muslim-Americans have faced many challenges to their basic civil liberties since the September 11th attacks on the World Trade Centers. One of the areas in which they have felt the most discrimination is in the workplace. The unique situation of Muslim-Americans has highlighted the inadequacies of Equal Employment Opportunities Act, otherwise known as Title VII, in protecting against the subtle nature of modern forms of discrimination. Without modifications to the rules governing Title VII claims, discrimination against minority groups will continue to prevail in the workplace.
